Dancer of the Year 2016

Hello, My name is Kari Maney.

I am 16 years old and a rising Junior at McDowell High School. I am the daughter of Sharon Maney and Roger Maney. I have been dancing at Miss Jacie’s for 13 years.  I am in Senior Concert and Senior Baton. I am also one of Miss Jacie’s and Miss Kristi’s helpers with the younger dancers.

This year I was very honored to be crowned Dancer of the Year. It was very unexpected and I appreciate it very much.

Dancer of the Month May 2016

My name is Emily Hamilton. I am a senior at McDowell High School.
I have been taking dance at Miss Jacie's School of Dance for 15 years. I have taken ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop classes. I have learned so much from Miss Jacie. Being part of dance classes have not only taught me how to dance, but, has also provided many opportunities. I have been involved in Relay for Life, the YMCA Healthy Kids Day, and dance competitions. I had the opportunity to attend Carolina Dance Masters. I took a class with Broadway play performer and then  watched him perform in the Broadway play, Newsies.

Dancer of the Month April 2016

My name is Maddie Revis and I am 11 years old. I have been dancing my whole life. I have been taking dance at Miss Jacie's school of dance for 8 years. I have taken ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop.  This year I was really excited to begin ballet on pointe.

My hobbies are art, reading, hiking, being outdoors, taking care of animals, and of course dance.

Dancer of the Month March 2016

Olivia Brown is 10 years old and has been dancing at Miss Jacie’s School of Dance since she was 3. This year she is a member of the Junior Concert Group, dancing tap and jazz, and has begun her study of hip-hop. Olivia continues her study of ballet and was very excited this year to begin her work on pointe.

Dancer of the Month February 2016

Jayla Shelton is 6 years old. She is in First grade at Glenwood Elementary.

This is Jayla's third year at Miss Jacie's School of Dance. She takes Tap/Acrobatics and Ballet. Jayla loves to dance, sing, ride horses, and play with her pets (Midnight, Gilbert, Bootsie, and Mu Shu).

Kalie Lowery is the 10 year old daughter of Sheina Mays and Brandon Lowery. Her grandparents are Denise Gibson and James Gibson. She has a brother named Logan.

Abigail Dayton is the daughter of Jeremy and Tammy Dayton. She's almost 13, and attends school at East McDowell Middle School. Her favorite subjects are Science and Social Studies, and she attends Vision Baptist Church in Marion.

Summer Hollifield is the daughter of Jennifer Burnette. She is 13 years old. She is homeschooled and attends BBC in Asheville, NC. Her favorite subjects are History and Math. She's a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Dancer of the Month September 2015

Bethany Hartwell is the daughter of Melanie Hartwell and the late Richard Hartwell. She has one sister Lydia. Bethany is an award winning dancer and this is her 10th year of dance at Miss Jacie's School Of Dance where she studies, ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop. She is a former Captain of her Concert Class and she has performed at many local civic events, including Relay For Life.

Dancer of the Month August 2015

Kellie Dehart, was born on September 2, 2005. She is the daughter of Greg and Kristi DeHart and the little sister to Katie Dehart. Kellie is 9 years old. She is an A-honor roll student at North Cove Elementary School and will be a rising 4th grader.

Kellie has been in dace since she was 3 years old. She will be taking the following classes at Miss Jacie’s School of Dance this year: baton, hip hop, ballet, tap and jazz as a concert dancer.

Hi! My name is Shana Adcock.

I'm 14 years old and a rising 9th grader at Nebo Crossing Academy. My birthday is January 19, 2001. I am the proud daughter of Tab and Stella Adcock. I am actively involved in my church services and my youth group. I use my talents to worship God in and out of church. I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up because of my great love for helping any kind of animal. I have been dancing for about 11 years now. In dance, I take ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop.
